A golf simulator at your wedding: entertainment guests will talk about

At every wedding there is a moment when guests have nothing to do. After the ceremony, while you are off having photos taken. Between the reception and dinner. Or late in the evening, when not everyone wants to dance any more. A golf simulator fills those moments in a way guests will remember.
Why a golf simulator works at a wedding
A wedding brings together guests of all ages and backgrounds. Grandparents, colleagues, school friends, children. Most activities appeal to only part of that group. A golf simulator is an exception:
- You do not need to know how to play. Most guests have never played golf. That does not matter; trying it is the fun part.
- It is a spectator sport. Guests gather around the simulator, cheer each other on and laugh at the misses. Even those not hitting are entertained.
- It brings groups together. The bride's friends against the groom's family? A longest drive turns that into a friendly battle in no time.
- It works in smart clothes. Golf is one of the few sports you can play perfectly well in a suit or dress. Heels off and away you go.
The best moment in the day
A few moments when the simulator works well:
During the photo shoot. You are away for an hour for photos and the guests are waiting. This is when the simulator gets used most.
During the reception. Guests come and go with a drink in hand. A host can keep a running nearest to the pin, with a prize for the winner at the end of the day.
Between dinner and the party. After the meal there is often a gap before the party starts. A short longest drive competition brings the energy back.
As an alternative to the dance floor. Not everyone dances. A quieter corner with the simulator gives those guests something to do.
Ideas to make it personal
- Bride against groom. Play a matchplay hole against each other, with all your guests watching.
- Team bride against team groom. Count the best scores on each side. The losing team joins in the first dance.
- A prize that suits you. A bottle of your favourite wine for the longest drive, for example. With our fully hosted package we also arrange a golf prize for the winners.
- Hole-in-one. If a guest hits a hole-in-one, they win a green fee of their choice at a golf course in the Netherlands. A story that will be told for years.
Practicalities: space, power and noise
A golf simulator needs less than you might think:
- Space: a flat area of about 3 by 5 metres.
- Indoors: a ceiling of at least 3 metres so guests can swing freely. Watch out for low chandeliers.
- Outdoors: we bring a tent so you can keep playing in wind or a shower.
- Power: one regular socket within 25 metres.
Check with your wedding venue in advance where the simulator can go. A terrace, side room or part of the garden usually works fine. We are happy to help and coordinate the set-up with the venue.
Set-up takes about an hour, so we are there well before the first guests arrive. Afterwards we take it all down and take everything with us.
Safety with children and drinks
A golf club and a busy room call for a few clear agreements:
- Only one person stands in the hitting area at a time.
- Spectators stay behind a clear line.
- Children hit under supervision, with a shorter club.
With our fully hosted package, our host keeps an eye on this. That gives you peace of mind: you do not have to worry about a thing.
Getting married in the Netherlands as an international couple?
Many international couples and guests celebrate in the Netherlands. Our host can give the instructions and run the challenges in English, so all your guests can join in.
What does it cost?
Set-up & take-down costs €650 and fully hosted €800 per event, excluding VAT and travel costs (€0.25 per km). For a wedding we usually recommend the fully hosted package: there is someone to explain things to the many beginners and to run the challenges smoothly. Frequently asked questions
Will it be too busy alongside the rest of the programme?
No. The simulator is a free activity: guests join in whenever they like. There is no fixed programme that clashes with your schedule, unless you want one.
How many guests can take part?
With short game modes, around 30 people per hour get their turn. At a wedding guests usually come and go, so over a whole afternoon or evening almost everyone can hit a few times.
Can children join in?
Yes. We have shorter clubs and the simulator is just as much fun for children as for adults. See also golf for beginners.
